Outside of my professional design work, I make clay sculptures as a hobby. I enjoy spending time in the clay studio, creating pieces that focus on texture, form, and the relationship between physicality and emotion. My love for wheelthrowing and handbuilding is something I discovered in high school. It’s a hands-on, meditative practice that allows me to explore my creativity in a more tactile way. This practice of being rooted in a physical way offers me valuable perspective on the design process, reminding me of the importance of craftsmanship and the user’s experience in interacting with an object or space. It’s a hobby that helps me stay inspired and grounded outside of my UX career, and manage screen fatigue.
